A must-have for every art enthusiast: the artistic journey of Honoré d’O
This book explores the ongoing artistic journey of the Belgian artist Honoré d’O. It brings together forty key works that bridge past and present, observation and imagination, stillness and movement. At its heart lies Honoré d’O’s recent residency in Marfa, Texas, where he spent forty days in the summer of 2024 in seclusion in the vast Chihuahua Desert. This location –imbued with the minimalist legacy of Donald Judd – became the setting for daily observations and a renewed artistic reflection.
In this unique publication, the reader is taken on a symbolic walk through the desert, where emptiness gains meaning and inspiration is redefined. The selection of works is interwoven with mythologies, creation stories, and reflections on perception and time, always infused with Honoré d’O’s signature adventurous irony.
With contributions by Denis Gielen, Pierre-Jean Galdin, Bram Van Damme, and Honoré d’O.
This publication accompanies the exhibition Quarantine: 40 Days in the Desert – Quarantaine : 40 Jours dans le Désertat Le Grand-Hornu in Hornu (Belgium), from December 12, 2025 to May 10, 2026.
